Featured above is the 5th studio album, “14 Original NZ Folk, Gospel & Blues Songs”. This recording project was completed on the 7th April 2017, and which will also be available on this site soon, along with the first tracks of the 6th album, which will be released one song at a time. When Mike was asked about the 6th album, and why he has decided to go down this road, his reply was “In this case I’ve been given the lyrics from a source I can’t disclose at the moment, due to the volume of work, over 10 songs, and the quality of the songs, it is going to take some time. I want to focus on being the producer, and focus on the nuts and bolts, one song at a time”. Well with that being said I guess I’ll just have to wait a bit longer for the first song to surface, we’ve tried to probe a bit deeper into whether he is already performing some of these songs, and the fact is yes he is. One of the songs to be featured in the next album, “The Jigsaw song”, is already registered with APRA, and you can go along and hear Mike at Sullivan’s Irish Pub, on their open mic night, where Willie McArthur will be your host. Also another venue that Mike frequents is “The Moon Under Water”, on Sundays from 2.30pm, both venues would be the prime opportunity to hear Mike’s new work, and of course purchase his 5th album. Check out the link below for a FREE track, yes this isn’t a typo, this is the WAV file from the studio, with a vivid slideshow of some of Mike’s photography, posted to Youtube as a gift, to those who may not be able to afford the CD.
